Butch
Butch: A DJ’s DJ, A Producer’s Producer, A House & Techno Chameleon Some DJs chase trends. Butch doesn’t have to – he sets them.
For two decades, Butch has been a force in underground electronic music, moving effortlessly between house, techno, and everything in between. One night, he’s closing Circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza with a deep, hypnotic set that leaves the crowd in a trance. The next, he’s at Robert Johnson, playing all night long, taking dancers on a journey through the golden years of house music. Then, just when you think you’ve got him figured out, he drops a pounding, psychedelic track that rips through a warehouse at 5 AM like a fever dream. That’s Butch – unpredictable in the best way.
From Mainz to the World
Born in Mainz, Germany, with Turkish roots, Butch wasn’t handed his career on a silver platter; he had to hustle – begging, borrowing, even stealing (literally!) to get his first turntables as a teenager. He obsessed over records, spent his nights hustling for gigs, and carved out his path in the city’s small but tight-knit club scene.
Fast forward, and his name is everywhere that matters. While he now calls Ibiza and Dubai home, his music continues to travel across the world. Along the way, he has won multiple prestigious “Best Producer” awards, played every major club and festival worth mentioning, and collaborated with electronic music royalty, from Ricardo Villalobos, Armand van Helden, and Cassius to Maceo Plex, Âme’s Frank Wiedemann, and Keinemusik.
From the most intimate, no-phones clubs to festival main stages, from marathon sets to high-energy peak- time moments, Butch’s music isn’t just played by the biggest DJs – it’s in their go-to folders for when the night needs a turn in the right direction.
Sound Without Borders
The diversity in Butch’s productions and DJ sets is what sets him apart. Some artists stick to a formula – he never has. His sound shifts and evolves, from deep, rolling house grooves to trippy, modular-infused electronica, always bringing a distinctive, hypnotic energy to whatever he touches.
His productions have landed on an enviable list of the scene’s most respected labels – a who’s who of underground electronic music – Innervisions, Rekids, Running Back, Cuttin’ Headz, Cocoon, Defected, Diynamic, Crosstown Rebels, Studio Barnhus, Turbo Recordings, and Cecille – and that’s only scratching the surface. His relentless creativity has built one of the most extensive discographies out there.
A Club Icon
Butch’s deep connection to Ibiza has made him a staple on the island, where he has played regularly at Circoloco at DC-10, Pacha, Amnesia, Ushuaïa, and Hï Ibiza. But no matter how big his career gets, his DJ home remains Robert Johnson, the legendary club where he still plays intimate, extended sets.
The DJ’s DJ
There’s a reason some of the biggest DJs in the world want to play back-to-back with Butch. His deep knowledge, flawless technical skills, and pure instinct for the dancefloor make him one of the most trusted DJs in the game.
His sets are unpredictable, his energy behind the decks is infectious, and his ability to read a room and adapt effortlessly is unmatched. Whether he’s headlining a festival stage or working the booth in a 200-cap basement club, Butch knows exactly how to bring a dancefloor together – without ever losing his signature touch.
2025: Back in the Spotlight (Without Ever Trying to Be)
Butch isn’t one to chase hype, but 2025 is shaping up to be massive. Leading the charge? His remix of Duck Sauce’s "Falling In Love" (Armand van Helden & A-Trak) – a certified dancefloor bomb already getting rinsed by Solomun, The Martinez Brothers, Joseph Capriati, ANOTR, and many more.
Next up? Butch’s single “Get High With You” on Defected, another banger already on heavy rotation with some of the biggest DJs around. And that’s just the beginning – several more remixes and releases are on the way, further proving that Butch is, once again, setting the tone for the year ahead.
No Rules. Just Music.
For Butch, it has never been about hype – it’s about music, movement, and moments.
On social media, he’s the funny guy. But in a club? He doesn’t need to be the loudest person in the room. He just needs four decks, a crowd, and a sound system that can handle whatever he throws at it.
And whatever comes next? You can bet it won’t sound like anything else out there.
